Overview

Portcast just released the Sailing Schedules search functionality on the Portcast Web Application. This new product brings visibility into scheduled voyages from/to selected ports for all major carriers, and is a helpful tool for planning operations. It also gives information on congestion information for ports of interest for the voyage (POL/POD).

Feature description

The Sailing Schedules functionality expands Portcast’s offering, by allowing planning ops professionals to access centralized scheduled sailings from one convenient location. This Web Application feature, which will soon be complemented by an easy-to-use API offering, allows obtaining detailed results of planned voyages from port A to port B.

The feature includes all major carriers and global ports. Information on scheduled sailings is refreshed daily, and includes ETA and ETD, transshipment information, route length, duration of the voyage, as well as information on the carrier and vessel that are scheduled to undertake the voyage.

The feature also allows refining by specific fields of interest, such as date of arrival or departure, amount of transshipments or preferred carrier.

Additionally, in order to empower planning professionals with live port activity information, Portcast’s Sailing Schedules also includes charts on the latest port congestion metrics for the port of loading (POL) and discharge (POD), including waiting and berth times for container vessels, as well as port traffic volumes information.

The Sailing Schedules dashboard lives on the Web Application, but can also be embedded into the customer’s application, and tracking of sailing schedules calls can be done at your customer’s level for granular billing.
