The Booking tracking section of the Portcast Web Application is an alternative way of browsing and tracking your uploaded containers. While the Container section displays all containers irrespective of their Booking/BL number, the Booking view allows you to view your containers aggregated by Booking or Bill of Lading. This allows a quicker view on the global status of your shipments, without having to browse containers individually.
In this guide we will dive into how to use the list table view of bookings to analyze, filter and search your Bookings or Bills of Lading and the underlying containers. Additionally, you can refer to the guide on Using the Booking Single view to understand how to drill-down into a specific Booking.

Please note: in some edge cases, BL/Bookings can include fractured information due to multiple voyages or exceptional situations. The Booking table can present some limitations in displaying those edge cases. When in doubt, refer to the single booking view for more granular and detailed information.

The Booking section can be accessed by going into the side navigation in the Portcast Web Application, and clicking on ‘Tracking’, then ‘Booking’.
The table view displayed works very similarly to the Container table view; we display a paginated view of all the Bookings or Bills of Lading (BL) previously uploaded, either via API or Web Application, and include provisional information on the underlying containers:

The main columns displayed include:
The table view will include all BL/Bookings uploaded, including BL/Bookings for which no containers were found or are yet to be populated, for example in the case of BL/Booking number for which the carrier is yet to provide information.
